There are many distinct spots within the house, such that we bestow certain things to where it is appropriate and pleasant to look. At the start, we are like unclothed sheep that is of no defense, tracking a nebulous channel, doesn’t know where to proceed, and still unaware of the things beyond the four great pillars. Unlock the windows, let’s gaze further the outside world and there we see various ways each having peculiarities. Behind this blinding rays of light are stony roads, mountainous trails, path of thorny vines, streets of the most barbarous beasts, golden door, totally vast plains in which only the horizon covers your sight, and some other gates and pathways that remains a mystery and are yet unseen. No matter what way we choose, what chest we open, or what seed we sow, as long as we stand still on a solid ground, in a place called home, there’s nothing to tremble in fear and doubt. A place where our heart is found, a placid place where our spirit exalts, a place where our ears chose to hear the songs of the doves, and a place under the shimmering bliss, is within our family, our comrades, our self-acceptance of who we are and what we are and above all, to the palms and heart of our God. In the depths of the depths, in my blood and my flesh, in the tears of my tear, in the Divine grace of my Savior, inside this vast home, is the oasis, it is where I lay my anchor, it is where I rest.

The Holy Father exhorts priests to say this prayer as often as possible, as a simple exorcism to curb the power of the devil and prevent him from doing harm. The faithful also may say it in their own name, for the same purpose, as any approved prayer. Its use is recommended whenever action of the devil is suspected, causing malice in men, violent temptations and even storms and various calamities. It could be used as a solemn exorcism (an official and public ceremony, in Latin), to expel the devil: It would then be said by a priest, in the name of the Church and only with the Bishop’s permission.

Holy Church venerates thee as her guardian and protector; to thee, the Lord has entrusted the souls of the redeemed to be led into heaven. Pray therefore the God of Peace to crush Satan beneath our feet, that he may no longer retain men captive and do injury to the Church. Offer our prayers unto the Most High, that without delay they may draw His mercy down upon us; take hold of “the dragon, the old serpent, which is the devil and Satan.” Bind him and cast him into the bottomless pit “so that he may no longer seduce the nations” (Apoc. 20:2).
